Warning over child ear infections

The future health of the thousands of BRITISH children could be affected because their infections of ear are not treated correctly, a charity known as.

Research RU of deafness indicates that antibiotics are given by practice in much case, but often does not function.

The children whose hearing is regularly affected can suffer from the dveloppementaux problems, but much of parents are ignoramuses what to make, he said.

The RNID indicated that it was essential to ask for the opinion of general practitioner about the recurring infections.

A report/ratio by the national institute for health and clinical excellence, published last year, suggested that as much of because 200.000 children suffer every year repeated infections of middle ear, a condition called the media of otitis, or sometimes ear of adhesive .

Dr. Williamson said that so other treatments were not considered, the children could suffer from the problems with the speech in the development of language while their faded hearing held them behind.

Charity also informed that the abuse antibiotics could help to multiply the bacteria resistant and the setting to dead good bacteria in the nose and the throat which really helped to prevent the infection taking the catch.

Vivienne Michael, senior officer of research RU of deafness, indicated: Partie the problem is that the parents miss knowledge about what making if their child has periodic or persistent problems of ear.

They is the important parents should realize that the antibiotics help only one small proportion of children with infections of ear, and are not recommended a whole in the treatment of the ear of adhesive.

King d' Angela, an elder specialist in audiology with RNID, said that although very uncomfortable, the ear of adhesive tended to only clear up in the majority of the children.

She added: However, up to 5% children obtain the persistent ear of adhesive or the accesses repeated of them - making difficult to hear which parents or professors say.

If not treated correctly, this can cause the long-term hearing impairment.
We would invite all the parents to ask for the opinion of their general practitioner initially and if the problems persist research a reference to a specialist in ear.
