Kids Watch: Add Peanut Butter Cracker Recall to VapoRubs Risks





Kids watch takes on a whole new meaning with a new peanut butter cracker recall and a warning about the risks of putting VapoRub under a child's nose. With the still fresh concerns over peanut butter and a possible salmonella contamination, consumers were hit with a new report just in time for the heavy cold and flu season that warns about improper use of Vicks VapoRub for children under a certain age, a report from MSNBC notes.

According to a report from the Washington Post, the medical staff and physicians at Wake Forest University began taking a look at the VapoRub risks, "after treating an 18-month-old girl who had developed severe respiratory distress." The problem was that they applied the medicine to a child under two and they put it directly under the nose.

The company both are the wrong thing to do and are quite clear in the instructions. That might cause some to shout to parents, "Hey, read the directions!" The product is safe if it is used per the directions provided. Now to the next bit of concern for parents and others that like to snack on peanut butter crackers.
